Pitch for our music video

The song we have chosen for our main music video is 'Runaway' by Galantis. After completing primary research through an online survey that was posted on social media such as Facebook and Snapchat, we were able to find out peoples opinions on music videos that they had previously watched. This information has allowed us to come up with a plan that will meet peoples expectations.

The Music video we will create will be just under 4:00 minutes because after having 44 people complete the questionnaire majority said that they preferred to watch a video under 4:00 minutes. This is due to if it is too long people don't bother watching anymore and just continue to listen, by them not watching as well wont allow them to recognise the video the next time it is on.

We would like to change the type of location we will film it in. Instead of it being the city at night with all the lights beaming, we would like to change it to grassy land/fields so we can give off a different atmosphere when we film it.We feel that the song speaks of someone who gets stronger and feels more alive when they're with this certain person. The lyrics 'I want to runaway' just sums up the general feelings in life of being fed up. We felt by ding it in a field or a location full of land then it would relate with each other as there is a lot of land and space, an open area just like an open mind wanting to run away.

The shots however we would like to keep similar, we would like to keep a relatively large amounts of close ups in there so that we can keep the emotions and feelings visual throughout. However in the original music video the close ups aren't there to show emotions as the main artist performing has got a mask on therefore they cannot be shown.

There is no need for a mask or face coverage in our  film as it wont have the same lighting or the same kind of feel to it. Our video is hoped to be more chilled out as the original is quite funky.

Website analysis of Dua Lipa

Website Home Page The home page features a black and white theme keeping it simple and modern. The photo featured is of the artist 'Dua Lipa'. This is to show the artist on the main page and this is because that is what her fans want to see when they click onto her website. The use of the male gaze is used as she is seen drawing attention to her lips by holding up the flower to her mouth. This is so that she hits both genders in different ways. There is also a navigation bar featuring white headings that when you hoover over them they underline and this is to help you navigate your way around the website easily. By having the navigation at the top and easy to see just means that they're more likely to keep navigating and exploring the website as the navigation bar will be able to show more things to explore when hovered over. There are also a range of social media logos including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Spotify, Apple and emails.  The

Equipment/Lighting decisions in our music video

Lighting is very important in music videos, as it allows it to be easier to see and also as it sets certain moods and atmospheres. An example of this would be, if we used low amount of lighting then it'll be setting a dull and sad atmosphere which would help highlight the meaning behind the song is not a positive atmosphere. Also the other way round as well, as if a large amount of colour is used then it'll set a more upbeat atmosphere and show that they're more likely to be given a positive media video to see.  Jessie J clip Here is a clip of Jessie J where she has dull lighting which represents the atmosphere as dull and an unhappy situation. The song is of a sad subject, it is negative song lyrics, this is helped by the lighting as its all dull however she is shown with a little more light over her so that she is highlighted as the main  This music video gives an impression of a dull meaning behind it just by the setting and equipment used in the shots, thi

Textual Analysis- Please don't leave me by Pink

Performance: The performance consists of Pink, the artiste dressed as a nurse, but not your typical hospital nurse. it is more of a sexy nurse outfit, which is suppose to appeal to the male gaze. Lyrics:  The song is about a couple with a a controlling girlfriend that is abusive towards her boyfriend, pushing him away but not wanting him to actually leave her. '   "I always say how I don't need you, but it's always gonna come right back to this, please don't leave me." Genre / mise en scene: The song is a Pop rock, dance pop song. whereas the video genre is horror/thriller. Camerawork: The camera is often seen following Pink, there is often the use of low angle that makes Pink appear powerful. Editing: Often the shots are continuous, especially when they are fighting at the start, they are also quite jumpy and choppy to go with their fast actions. There is a lot of back and forth with the use of continuous to show the set and the scenes. I
