Planning diary

Our Planning Diary

The first day of filming would be to capture the majority of the shots, whatever we could get on that day depending if the weather is the correct type of background/location. The second lot of filming would be to get any shots we didn't get or to re film shots. Once putting together the pieces we could arrange a third lot of filming if needed to get extra shots or to change them.

Shooting schedule -

First day -
Date : 03/10/17
Duration : length needed
We will get the long shots
The main close ups of the lip syncing
Needed for filming will be the main artiste, who will be lip syncing
Also will need the weather as planned
The costumes will be the outfit discussed

Second day -
Date : 10/10/17
Duration : 2 hours
Any needed shots missed out
Any changes/re films
Same outfit as first shootings
Same weather, if not available change the shots

Third day -
Date : 25/10/17
Duration : 1 hour
If needed for more shooting
New shots
Last bits to film
Same outfit as the other shootings
Same weather ideally

This is the plan that will be followed for those days to create our final piece/music video. We will stick to the notes made as much as we can however anything that can't be helped and has to be changed or rearranged we will jot down and keep note of.

We need to keep all three days of our filming similar weather costumes and also atmosphere within the setting and location so that there is no pieces out of place.

Also if anything needs to be added to each schedule day or we need extra time or days added we can add on more days or more hours. However most footage should be shot within the first or second shooting the third should be back up should we need it.

Equipment/Lighting decisions in our music video

Lighting is very important in music videos, as it allows it to be easier to see and also as it sets certain moods and atmospheres. An example of this would be, if we used low amount of lighting then it'll be setting a dull and sad atmosphere which would help highlight the meaning behind the song is not a positive atmosphere. Also the other way round as well, as if a large amount of colour is used then it'll set a more upbeat atmosphere and show that they're more likely to be given a positive media video to see.  Jessie J clip Here is a clip of Jessie J where she has dull lighting which represents the atmosphere as dull and an unhappy situation. The song is of a sad subject, it is negative song lyrics, this is helped by the lighting as its all dull however she is shown with a little more light over her so that she is highlighted as the main  This music video gives an impression of a dull meaning behind it just by the setting...

Textual Analysis - Sia Chandelier

Sia Chandelier This music video is mainly well known for its  choreography as this is a memorable factor, there is no lip syncing - it is just literally Maddie dancing to the meaning of the song. Performance –  Sia doesn't like to star in her own videos, she has Maddie Ziegler a young girl who dancers throughout for her as a dancer. The performance is of Maddie dancing all around an abandoned, neglected location which is dirty and unpleasant. Lyrics -   The words "swinging from a chandelier" is usually know as a metaphor for partying to excess. As she states in the lyrics "party girls don't get hurt" so if she keeps drinking she won't feel the pain that addictions can eventually give.  She si...
