Reshoots (needs more added)

We decided to do re-shoots especially on parts we video'd right at the beginning when we was still trying to decide on exactly what we needed to film etc before piecing it together to see exactly how it fits.
The point of re-shooting is to let us re film shots that wasn't how we wanted them or to get extra shots, for this reason by re-shooting it allows us to get better shots to improve our music video.

Our first time filming was a bit hit or miss, we had planned it but when filming we didn't know how much to film or if we'd filmed too much. We got some shots that will now be re-shot and them bits of footage will be named as 'test' footage. They will be re filmed so that the shots taken out of the beginning of the video will be filled in and recreated.

We will use our last day planned for filming as a day where we will do any last filming shots, any re-shoots etc so that we can get anything that needs to be altered or redone can be taken out of our original video.

Here is some of the shots we had before hand and what we put in place afterwards -

Equipment/Lighting decisions in our music video

Lighting is very important in music videos, as it allows it to be easier to see and also as it sets certain moods and atmospheres. An example of this would be, if we used low amount of lighting then it'll be setting a dull and sad atmosphere which would help highlight the meaning behind the song is not a positive atmosphere. Also the other way round as well, as if a large amount of colour is used then it'll set a more upbeat atmosphere and show that they're more likely to be given a positive media video to see.  Jessie J clip Here is a clip of Jessie J where she has dull lighting which represents the atmosphere as dull and an unhappy situation. The song is of a sad subject, it is negative song lyrics, this is helped by the lighting as its all dull however she is shown with a little more light over her so that she is highlighted as the main  This music video gives an impression of a dull meaning behind it just by the setting...

Website analysis of Weeknd

Website Home Page The Weekend website has a simple colour scheme of black and white colour shade for the font title, but the actual imagery is a range of greys and blacks to coordinate with the outfit of the man displayed.  The artist is also featured on the page to help establish who the website is promoting.  The navigation bar at the top is white font and when you hoover over them they light up to help suggest to you that these can be clicked.  There is also a hyperlink labeled 'Watch Now' for you to click on that takes you to another page.  The website is aimed at fans of the artist as it also allows you to make a membership, suggesting dedication to the artist. There is a cart option, suggesting fans can purchase merchandise.  Then there is a 'get updates' icon that allows fans to sign up and get notified. This is a great feature as it allows fans to keep in contact and update with their favourite artist. The screenshot below shows a pag...

Editing Diary

This is our editing diary of our filming to keep updated on what we may need to change or re-film etc. What was discarded? We had some ideas that we had kept in our video however they didn't match or look good enough to be shown as a music video, therefore we discarded a few hots we had taken and got rid of them however we kept them for rough cuts. We had to discard these shots in order to get better ones that fitted better. A few things we had planned and put on our story board however when we filmed it we didn't find it effective and didn't think it looked right with the music. What changed? We changed some of our ideas whilst filming as we didn't w ant to stick to exactly what we planned as when we started to film we decided it was a bit boring and repetitive so we wanted to add more shots and locations in, we ended up with more than one location not just the park. Did it go smoothly? Our video as we stared to piece it together for the first time did...
