Settings and Locations

For the Location of the original music video done by Galantis it is set in the city at night showing the bright lights and the night life. We didn't feel that, that location was suited that well for the song or lyrics itself. This is because we felt that the lyrics of Runaway is more of an empty feeling rather than it being in an environment of light up bright colours as presented in the original. The lyrics contradicted the video.

In our video we are going to remake we had a few different ideas.

After coming up with three realistic ideas of where we could go to change it up a bit we decided on the fields and grass land as we felt it would give the best atmosphere when mixing with the lyrics. We wanted it to be completely different to the original but top give the same feelings and show the same story the original did.

So the location of our music video will be in an open location of land, grassy fields and lots of trees. We thought about this location and decided it would suit the genre and the lyrics really well.

Here is the type of location/scenery we hope to achieve -

If we are able to get a large piece of land with lots of distance then we would be able show the meaning of the song and title far better 'Runaway'. So that it can show the meaning far better. The pictures above are the kind of locations we are planning to film in.

Website analysis of Dua Lipa

Website Home Page The home page features a black and white theme keeping it simple and modern. The photo featured is of the artist 'Dua Lipa'. This is to show the artist on the main page and this is because that is what her fans want to see when they click onto her website. The use of the male gaze is used as she is seen drawing attention to her lips by holding up the flower to her mouth. This is so that she hits both genders in different ways. There is also a navigation bar featuring white headings that when you hoover over them they underline and this is to help you navigate your way around the website easily. Equipment/Lighting decisions in our music video

Lighting is very important in music videos, as it allows it to be easier to see and also as it sets certain moods and atmospheres. An example of this would be, if we used low amount of lighting then it'll be setting a dull and sad atmosphere which would help highlight the meaning behind the song is not a positive atmosphere. Also the other way round as well, as if a large amount of colour is used then it'll set a more upbeat atmosphere and show that they're more likely to be given a positive media video to see. A shot that shows a link between lyrics and/or music and visuals. One point during the song the lyrics are 'catching fire as the wind blows'. We have used a clip within our video where we have tried to portray those lyrics. This was done through the use of a candle and a girl blowing the candle out. The girl represents the wind whilst the candle represents the fire. A shot that typifies the way a record company would want their artist to be represented. The record company would want the artist to be represented in a way that teenagers can relate them. This is very apparent as the girl in the video wants to feel loved and you could interpret it as she has gone through a break up.
