Moodboard of good websites that have inspired you in your planning

Our moodboard

Here is a mood board of some images which show the websites that we have looked at and liked things about them, we tried to get a selection of websites to help us with ideas. All with different bits about them that we liked and inspired us to choose them. These four websites we have used are all the same genre as our music video is. They are all the POP genre. The mood board we created is below -

Olly Murs
The first image which is of Olly Murs' website where he has used a black and white background with black and mint green text. This is  effective as the text stands out well against the background which gives a positive enhancement on the website as the text needs to be bold against the background. The home page is positioned well as there is the image on the right hand side with the text positioned on the left with his name in bold letters as it is his website. There is only three colour used in this website, background is grey, black and green text. Simple but effective website.

Katy Perry
The next website that e found that we liked the look of that inspired us is Katy Perry's website. Where we was really attracted to the large scale image placed in the middle of the page on the home page it displays an abstract image or Katy Perry herself, the artist. It is a completely plain background which is white with black text and a title in funky text. The photo is over powering and grabs the attention, making a viewer more likely to go further into the website and explore it. The website is again pretty simple but the bright bold colours used in the image is creative and impressive. It brings the personality of her music into her website.

Justin Bieber
The third website we decided to include on our moodboard as we liked the website was Justin Bieber's. The website is all in black and white the background of the website, the text and even the image shown on the home page. The more you scroll down the more colour is added to the site as it brings different colour boxes. However when you look at he site from first glimpse when you first go onto the website it shows just the simple colours of black and white. The image doesn't say much it is just a simple image of the artist from angles that don't show an upfront picture of Justin himself.

Rihanna
Our fourth website we decided to use was Rihanna's which is again simple. The page has an image of her directly in the middle which is cut off at the bottom with a sepia white background saying her name and some tour dates. This web page is more creative, it displays more information than others. She has all the navigation down the side which is unusual as most other websites display them across the top. They would usually be in the same place and they all seem to follow the same layout.

Summary

All four websites we have chosen excluding Kat Perry's site, have been minimal colours and very little information. However Katy Perry's page is bright and colourful from. the images. From here websites, it has helped us decide that we could like to do a white or black background with a bright/bold photo of the artist in the middle. This is to combine the websites that have inspired us by keeping a plain background however mixing it with a bright image to liven it up.

Website analysis of Dua Lipa

Website Home Page The home page features a black and white theme keeping it simple and modern. The photo featured is of the artist 'Dua Lipa'. This is to show the artist on the main page and this is because that is what her fans want to see when they click onto her website. The use of the male gaze is used as she is seen drawing attention to her lips by holding up the flower to her mouth. This is so that she hits both genders in different ways. There is also a navigation bar featuring white headings that when you hoover over them they underline and this is to help you navigate your way around the website easily. By having the navigation at the top and easy to see just means that they're more likely to keep navigating and exploring the website as the navigation bar will be able to show more things to explore when hovered over. There are also a range of social media logos including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Spotify, Apple and emails.  The

Equipment/Lighting decisions in our music video

Lighting is very important in music videos, as it allows it to be easier to see and also as it sets certain moods and atmospheres. An example of this would be, if we used low amount of lighting then it'll be setting a dull and sad atmosphere which would help highlight the meaning behind the song is not a positive atmosphere. Also the other way round as well, as if a large amount of colour is used then it'll set a more upbeat atmosphere and show that they're more likely to be given a positive media video to see.  Jessie J clip Here is a clip of Jessie J where she has dull lighting which represents the atmosphere as dull and an unhappy situation. The song is of a sad subject, it is negative song lyrics, this is helped by the lighting as its all dull however she is shown with a little more light over her so that she is highlighted as the main  This music video gives an impression of a dull meaning behind it just by the setting and equipment used in the shots, thi

Textual Analysis- Please don't leave me by Pink

Performance: The performance consists of Pink, the artiste dressed as a nurse, but not your typical hospital nurse. it is more of a sexy nurse outfit, which is suppose to appeal to the male gaze. Lyrics:  The song is about a couple with a a controlling girlfriend that is abusive towards her boyfriend, pushing him away but not wanting him to actually leave her. '   "I always say how I don't need you, but it's always gonna come right back to this, please don't leave me." Genre / mise en scene: The song is a Pop rock, dance pop song. whereas the video genre is horror/thriller. Camerawork: The camera is often seen following Pink, there is often the use of low angle that makes Pink appear powerful. Editing: Often the shots are continuous, especially when they are fighting at the start, they are also quite jumpy and choppy to go with their fast actions. There is a lot of back and forth with the use of continuous to show the set and the scenes. I
