What is the purpose of a website ?

Different kinds of websites have different purposes depending on who the intended audience is.
Some websites are geared towards selling products and other are just purely for entertainment. There are variety of websites, the most common websites are selling websites for clothing or supermarkets. However, music/artist webpages are also quite common to have.

You can see that on the selling site there is a lot more well set out as they're all made to keep customers looking so they're purchase products and contribute money to the company where as the Rihanna website which is for entertainment and to give her fans information, they're not so worried about the layout of the website as it is more there to feed information to fans and just keep them updated.

Make money with a website
A site that there to make money from your website and this will be done by the visitors to pay for the items or a shopping cart where people can purchase things. Security things will be there to protect the purchasers information, for the website to have people repeat purchase or want to continue using the site then it needs to give a professional appearance.

Websites built to share information

This is a website there to share information and this might not need as many features as a site that is there to sell products. Therefore a website to advertise an artist's page of their concerts etc is going to cost far less to create than a website put in place to sell clothes would need due to it needing far less features etc. The websites are put in place to give customers or fans information on upcoming things, this is there so that things can be displayed and information can be uploaded and changed frequently.

Website analysis of Dua Lipa

Website Home Page The home page features a black and white theme keeping it simple and modern. The photo featured is of the artist 'Dua Lipa'. This is to show the artist on the main page and this is because that is what her fans want to see when they click onto her website. The use of the male gaze is used as she is seen drawing attention to her lips by holding up the flower to her mouth. This is so that she hits both genders in different ways. There is also a navigation bar featuring white headings that when you hoover over them they underline and this is to help you navigate your way around the website easily. Equipment/Lighting decisions in our music video

Lighting is very important in music videos, as it allows it to be easier to see and also as it sets certain moods and atmospheres. An example of this would be, if we used low amount of lighting then it'll be setting a dull and sad atmosphere which would help highlight the meaning behind the song is not a positive atmosphere. Also the other way round as well, as if a large amount of colour is used then it'll set a more upbeat atmosphere and show that they're more likely to be given a positive media video to see. Evaluation 1 - In what ways do your music product use, develop and challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

A shot that shows a link between lyrics and/or music and visuals. One point during the song the lyrics are 'catching fire as the wind blows'. We have used a clip within our video where we have tried to portray those lyrics. This was done through the use of a candle and a girl blowing the candle out. The girl represents the wind whilst the candle represents the fire. A shot that typifies the way a record company would want their artist to be represented. The record company would want the artist to be represented in a way that teenagers can relate them.
