Evaluation 4- How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation?

Many media technologies were used throughout the project, this includes the following and how they were used:

YouTube:

YouTube was  more for construction of the project. It was used as a way of uploading videos to the blog. This was things such as the directors commentary, focus group and final film. The reason we found it easier to upload to YouTube first was because then we could link the YouTube link to the blog, plus with YouTube you can also edit the way a viewer sees the video.

Twitter:

Twitter again was used for construction of the project. It was used as a way of promoting the video to our target market. This is because with Twitter you can link YouTube links and reach out to mass audiences through the use of tweeting and retweeting. Twitter also allows other people to share with one another and a biography can be made up on the Twitter page allowing you to link other social media accounts and websites.

Facebook:

Facebook is another way of promoting and reaching out to our target audience. It was used more for construction side as it allowed us to post previews and progress being made. It also allowed us to approach audiences and seek feedback to help us improve our website and video. As well as being able to link the website on Facebook to help promote the artist and their music.

Instagram:

Instagram was again used for construction. It allowed us to preview and promote our music video to our chosen target market. As well as allowing us to link the website that we created for the music video and artist. Again our followers can forward on previews of the upcoming music video to other users, increasing the artists popularity and allowing the music video to gain more views and downloads.

Blogger:

Blogger has been a huge part of this as it allowed us to record everything that has gone on throughout the project, from primary research to evaluations. As well as allowing us to upload the final products for people to view. It also allowed us to create posts for the blog during post production, so this could be feedback posts. Then another thing that Blogger was used for was for preparation as we were abkle to put up planning posts such as a focus group, storyboard and website plan.

PowerPoint:

PowerPoint was used more for evaluations. It allowed us to write in detail and have a clear format. As well as following the same design of purple and white, similar to the website, digipak and logo. This meant when creating evaluation for the project that we were able to produce a creative layout for the evaluation on Blogger.

WIX:

WIX was the website that we used to create our music video's website. The website allowed you to use a template in which you could customise so it fits in the design of the other products made throughout the project. The website also allows us to promote and advertise the artist and the brand new music video. As well as allowing us to link the social media accounts. Then it also allows us to keep fans updated on any new information on the artist or any upcoming songs.

iMovie and iPhone:

iMovie and an iPhone Camera were used a  lot throughout the production of the music video, focus group and directors commentary. iPhone camera was used for the filming side of things and iMovie was use to edit and perfect the footage. iPhone was also used to make the logo as we used an app  from the Apple app store to create it. The app was called logo maker.

Website analysis of Dua Lipa

Website Home Page The home page features a black and white theme keeping it simple and modern. The photo featured is of the artist 'Dua Lipa'. This is to show the artist on the main page and this is because that is what her fans want to see when they click onto her website. The use of the male gaze is used as she is seen drawing attention to her lips by holding up the flower to her mouth. This is so that she hits both genders in different ways. There is also a navigation bar featuring white headings that when you hoover over them they underline and this is to help you navigate your way around the website easily. By having the navigation at the top and easy to see just means that they're more likely to keep navigating and exploring the website as the navigation bar will be able to show more things to explore when hovered over. There are also a range of social media logos including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Spotify, Apple and emails.  The

Equipment/Lighting decisions in our music video

Lighting is very important in music videos, as it allows it to be easier to see and also as it sets certain moods and atmospheres. An example of this would be, if we used low amount of lighting then it'll be setting a dull and sad atmosphere which would help highlight the meaning behind the song is not a positive atmosphere. Also the other way round as well, as if a large amount of colour is used then it'll set a more upbeat atmosphere and show that they're more likely to be given a positive media video to see.  Jessie J clip Here is a clip of Jessie J where she has dull lighting which represents the atmosphere as dull and an unhappy situation. The song is of a sad subject, it is negative song lyrics, this is helped by the lighting as its all dull however she is shown with a little more light over her so that she is highlighted as the main  This music video gives an impression of a dull meaning behind it just by the setting and equipment used in the shots, thi

Textual Analysis- Please don't leave me by Pink

Performance: The performance consists of Pink, the artiste dressed as a nurse, but not your typical hospital nurse. it is more of a sexy nurse outfit, which is suppose to appeal to the male gaze. Lyrics:  The song is about a couple with a a controlling girlfriend that is abusive towards her boyfriend, pushing him away but not wanting him to actually leave her. '   "I always say how I don't need you, but it's always gonna come right back to this, please don't leave me." Genre / mise en scene: The song is a Pop rock, dance pop song. whereas the video genre is horror/thriller. Camerawork: The camera is often seen following Pink, there is often the use of low angle that makes Pink appear powerful. Editing: Often the shots are continuous, especially when they are fighting at the start, they are also quite jumpy and choppy to go with their fast actions. There is a lot of back and forth with the use of continuous to show the set and the scenes. I
