Which Websites could we use to promote the music video?

Website Plan

As labelled above the website is going to purple  background and white fonts with links to the social media sites associated with the music video. As well as having an About section that discusses the new video and song, music tab which features previous songs, a merchandise tab, an info tab that mentions release dates, a video tab that has the link to the new music video and old music videos and then a tab about the artist. The logo will also be featured and then the song title will be the name of the website. This is only a basic plan but we are opening to create something similar. t

What a good website should include

What a good website would include A good website corporates a handful of things. Some websites have  all of these features and some of them only have a few of them. They should all link in well together and all parts, e.g. images, navigation, purpose and it being user friendly so that it sits well as a successful website. Navigation Traditional navigation menus are located at the top or side of a website page. However, more and more websites have been using unique navigation menus. In some cases there is no navigation “menu”, but rather a different way of directing or “navigating” the user towards the information they’re looking for. User friendly Being user friendly can bring a lot of people to it. If it isn't user friendly then it will be a lot of people not able to navigate around it. Usability has always been of key importance in a successful website.  If it is difficult to use and navigate for the user then they may not know how to use the website and there may be confus

Website Analysis of Katy Perry

This is Katy Perry's website. What her website is for Her website is there to keep you updated on key dates like her tour and to be able took or watch recently videos and images, another way of keeping up to date with her.  However now social media is around the most used part of the website is probably the store or the 'Tour' section. Like most websites you just scroll down and all of her key notices appear. There is also a navigation bar at the top that is set out neatly and spaced out so that it is easy to read. It is wrote boldly so that it stands out and helps you to navigate around the page.  She has a simple white background which is then contrasted by her photo uploaded on the first page where it s bright and vibrant. The colours were ''loud'' colours that are easy to catch attention. It's a unordinary picture/photo where it doesn't quite meet the 'norm'. This design of the webpage is creative and well done, they contrast ag

Website analysis of Dua Lipa

Website Home Page The home page features a black and white theme keeping it simple and modern. The photo featured is of the artist 'Dua Lipa'. This is to show the artist on the main page and this is because that is what her fans want to see when they click onto her website. The use of the male gaze is used as she is seen drawing attention to her lips by holding up the flower to her mouth. This is so that she hits both genders in different ways. There is also a navigation bar featuring white headings that when you hoover over them they underline and this is to help you navigate your way around the website easily. By having the navigation at the top and easy to see just means that they're more likely to keep navigating and exploring the website as the navigation bar will be able to show more things to explore when hovered over. There are also a range of social media logos including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Spotify, Apple and emails.  The

Website analysis of Weeknd

Website Home Page The Weekend website has a simple colour scheme of black and white colour shade for the font title, but the actual imagery is a range of greys and blacks to coordinate with the outfit of the man displayed.  The artist is also featured on the page to help establish who the website is promoting.  The navigation bar at the top is white font and when you hoover over them they light up to help suggest to you that these can be clicked.  There is also a hyperlink labeled 'Watch Now' for you to click on that takes you to another page.  The website is aimed at fans of the artist as it also allows you to make a membership, suggesting dedication to the artist. There is a cart option, suggesting fans can purchase merchandise.  Then there is a 'get updates' icon that allows fans to sign up and get notified. This is a great feature as it allows fans to keep in contact and update with their favourite artist. The screenshot below shows a page that y

Moodboard of good websites that have inspired you in your planning

Our moodboard Here is a mood board of some images which show the websites that we have looked at and liked things about them, we tried to get a selection of websites to help us with ideas. All with different bits about them that we liked and inspired us to choose them. These four websites we have used are all the same genre as our music video is. They are all the POP genre. The mood board we created is below -  Olly Murs The first image which is of Olly Murs' website where he has used a black and white background with black and mint green text. This is  effective as the text stands out well against the background which gives a positive enhancement on the website as the text needs to be bold against the background. The home page is positioned well as there is the image on the right hand side with the text positioned on the left with his name in bold letters as it is his website. There is only three colour used in this website, background is grey, b

What is the purpose of a website ?

Websites in general Different kinds of websites have different purposes depending on who the intended audience is.  Some websites are geared towards selling products and other are just purely for entertainment. There are variety of websites, the most common websites are selling websites for clothing or supermarkets. However, music/artist webpages are also quite common to have. Examples of selling websites may be - Office Examples of entertainment - Rihanna's website You can see that on the selling site there is a lot more well set out as they're all made to keep customers looking so they're purchase products and contribute money to the company where as the Rihanna website which is for entertainment and to give her fans information, they're not so worried about the layout of the website as it is more there to feed information to fans and just keep them updated. Make money with

Mood board of Websites

The mood board below is of websites of all artists that are of the same genre as our chosen genre of electro pop. Each of these websites has inspired us to create and choose the theme of our own website. The style that most artists use for their website is vibrant colours and a common feature is a space type theme. The majority of them have featured the artist on them, apart from one or two who have just used either the artists name, a logo or images associated with the artist.

Analysis of final digipak

Analysis of our digipak  Once we created our digipak we did an analysis on it and we got a few people to help us do this so we got them to look at our digipak and they gave us feedback on it. First piece of feedback Good - The digipak was plain however the writing was 'FUNKY' so it made it stand out a lot. Bad - It may be seen as too plain if you have a different mind set to me. Improvements - Maybe you could have included one image on it inside maybe Second piece of feedback Good - I like the colour choice and I think the writing on the CD looked good. Bad -  I feel like it was a little too plain  and that it could do with images. Improvements - Either use some images or at least some illustrations Third piece of feedback  Good  - The different things on each page was well set out and it sat nicely together Bad  -  I think that it could have been made better if there was more colours added onto the colour scheme. Improvements  -  Add more colours than ju

Our first attempt of a digipak design

Our digipak This is our first go at drawing a digpak with our designs on it. We have tried to link it to our music video that we have created. This is an attempt of seeing if our drawings/pictures/images on our digipak goes well together.  This is our front page - On our front cover we have decided to use this image as we feel it suits the meaning and the song well.  This is our backpage -  This is our back page where we have chosen to write in a font where it matches the image and meaning of the song, it gives off the same impression. This is our CD cover -  We had a few   different ideas but our main idea was of having the CD cover with This is inside page number 1 -  On the first inside page we might have an image of a heart or silhouettes of hearts so that it is an inviting atmosphere of the mood of the image.

Template for your digipak

This is a template of a digital, it is the typical digital template that would be used when creating one for a CD. The piece that says "Front" would have an image of either the artist or the main meaning behind the CD/songs. This could be a close up of the artist or just awn image to suit the genre. This is usually the most looked at part of the digipak. Where is states "Back" this is where the songs are usually listed in the order of how the songs go on the CD. This is usually written in a font that suites the songs and meaning or genre of the album. This would usually be a similar font to what is on the front of the digipak. The CD where it is drawn above, is the part that sits in the middle. The CD sits in the middle of the digital and the CD usually has some kind of image or decoration on it representing the genre. A lot of the time the CD is something similar to what is shown on the front page and this is so that the whole CD is of a similar layout a

Examples of digipaks and analysis

Here are a few examples of Digipaks and an analysis of them on what is good and what is bad about them. They are a random selection, some in which are of artistes I like and have listened to and others are just randomly picked The first digipak - Rihanna "LOUD" The digipak contains just one person, Rihanna herself. She is shown close up on the front with her bold red hair, the picture is a way of grabbing attention.  The striking colours of red allows us to relate it to the title of "LOUD". The way she doesn't give direct eye contact with the camera shows that she is shy or confident however this is contrasted by the tattoo shown on her neck in the same image.  By bringing a song out in the "RnB" genre she has not done the typical image type to show the theme of love instead of the sexual side to it she has shown the innocent side to it, to change it up.  On the cover and also the inside there is a prop of roses which also indicates the ide
